The mission of HR at BlackRock is to help great people experience extraordinary careers and the Head of Learning & Development is critical in helping us achieve this. In this role you will be developing the strategy to further embed our culture of learning as well as evolving how employees’ access and use learning to drive their careers.
This role encompasses our global, firmwide scaled learning assets: our BlackRock Academies (a suite of business-led learning environments), Professional Development catalog, Instructional Design, and consulting with businesses on their bespoke learning priorities. You will partner closely with other aspects of Talent Management (leadership development, careers, etc.), across HR and with learning counterparts in other regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and vision to define strategic priorities for the Learning Team and tactics to deepen and broaden BlackRock’s culture of learning.
- Continue to evolve governance and clear quality standards around learning content and delivery.
- Serve as a thought partner to internal leaders by partnering on learning design strategies to improve learner experience and increase speed to proficiency.
- Drive innovation by introducing new learning tools, technologies, and modalities.
- In partnership with the HR Analytics team, continue to refine our learning data strategy by identifying and implementing learning critical metrics.
- Partner strategically with BlackRock Academies Sponsors to understand critical learning needs and advise on how the learning ecosystem can help advance their priorities.
- Encourage, support, and develop a globally distributed team of Learning & Development professionals.
Desired Qualifications
- 15+ years of corporate learning experience, preferably in a fast-paced high-growth environment with many internal / external partners.
- Validated experience and thought leadership in developing and driving learning across a global organization (e.g., learning design, instructional design, career pathing, adult learning theory, coaching certifications).
- Demonstrated understanding of a Learning Experience Platform (LXP), Learning Management System (LMS), Employee Engagement, and related systems / platforms.
- Ability to synthesize disparate, sophisticated information into a clear and concise message and narrative.
- Proven success in leading sophisticated, long-term organizational change initiatives.
- Program and project management experience.
- Strong People Manager capabilities.

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
