About the role

Seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the company’s accounting functions. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial decision-making. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in managing the accounting team, preparing monthly financial statements, and handling various aspects of financial analysis, tax compliance, and audits.

Requirements

  • What you will be doing:
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all entries, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
  • Month-End/Year-End Close:
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insight into financial performance and recommending improvements.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations, including preparation of tax returns and liaison with external tax advisors.
  • Audit Preparation:
  • Prepare for external and internal audits by ensuring that all necessary financial records, supporting documentation, and reports are available.
  • Financial Analysis:
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Provide recommendations to management for operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and controls. Suggest and implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.
  • Team Supervision:
  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure team success and the professional development of team members.
  • Cash Flow Management:
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring optimal liquidity for the company’s operations.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls:
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies. Implement and enforce accounting standards across the team.

Qualifications

  • What Sets You Apart:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, accounts receivable, collections, and general ledger accounts is essential.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, TM1, etc.)
  • Skills:
  • Advanced financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and interacting with senior management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities for team development.
