The Director, Commercial Training & Development is responsible for the strategic management and development of field training and education strategies, curriculum, and content for HeartFlow’s U.S. sales and commercial team. Critical to the success in this role is the development and delivery of high-quality and relevant educational content to enable a best-in-class commercial organization. The Director, Commercial Training & Development plays a pivotal role in shaping our U.S. sales and commercial team & training strategy and is central to developing and fostering a high-performance commercial organization.

This is a people management position, and this person is expected to build out a commercial training team over time. The Director, Commercial Training & Development reports to the VP, Commercial Enablement and Strategic OPIC. #LI-Remote; #LI-IB1

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic management, development, and execution of HeartFlow’s commercial training and education efforts
  • Determine education priorities and programs based on key strategic initiatives, product launches, and educational needs
  • Provide leadership and vision on the design, planning, and implementation of robust education curriculum and certification process to onboard HeartFlow’s sales and commercial team
  • Own overall training plan, identification of training deliverables, and training methodology for each deliverable
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders (e.g., downstream and upstream marketing, sales, medical education, clinical, and market access, etc.) to determine training needs
  • Gather feedback from commercial field team members to guide educational content
  • Establish and measure training effectiveness based on impact, knowledge retention, and behavior change; monitor, address, and report on key metrics to commercial leadership
  • Build a team of training and education professionals over time; expect to manage, develop, coach, and support the team to execute on commercial training priorities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for sales training educational resource providers, including negotiating contracts and services in liaison with external vendor organizations
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to develop programs and ensure compliance with all efforts

Skills Needed:

  • Outstanding project management, organization, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivating, able to contribute both individually and as a leader
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably business, science, or education
  • 7+ years of medical professional education experience including design and implementation of programs
  • Previous medical device or healthcare experience in a clinical, marketing or related capacity. Experience with cardiology is preferred
  • Significant experience working closely with leading physicians on clinical and educational programs

The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience and training; skill sets; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $190,000 to $215,000 per year, cash bonus and stock options.
