Description

The School of Community Resources and Development (SCRD) in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associate positions for the 2025 – 2026 academic year. Faculty Associates are part-time, adjunct faculty who are hired on a one-semester, renewable contract to teach one or two courses (not to exceed 0.40 FTE) per semester, either in-person or online.

Faculty Associate positions are fixed-term appointments that are not eligible for benefits, sabbaticals, or tenure. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

For this position, we seek to attract a pool of qualified people who are available to teach in-person and/or online courses on ASU’s campus in Downtown Phoenix or Tempe.

We provide internationally recognized interdisciplinary research expertise and innovative academic programs in community development, therapeutic recreation, nonprofit leadership and management, parks, recreation and sport management, and tourism development and management.  Courses are delivered through in-person, online, and hybrid platforms.

Job Responsibilities

The role requires someone who can deliver engaging in-person and/or online lectures, discussions, and content, contribute to the creation of assignments and exams, evaluate and grade student work, manage Canvas learning management platform and hold office hours to assist students. Nonprofit Leadership and Management (NLM) courses are developed and have been taught multiple times with a well-defined syllabus outlining purpose, content, readings, and assignments. NLM courses are aligned with Curricular Guidelines of the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC). The SCRD has earned NACC accreditation for both undergraduate and graduate NLM Degrees. Local applicants may teach either online or in-person courses. Worldwide applicants may apply to teach online courses.
