If you love data and finding ways to drive improvements for a growing company, the Analytics & Insights Principal role is for you. You’ll be part of our MGA Strategy, Insights & Pricing team and will be in the driver seat to advance our analytics capabilities.

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?
At Simply Business, we’ve shifted to a hybrid working model, meaning we have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time. That means our SBers have more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.
There are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We know that taking time for in-person connections in our hubs (that’s what we call our offices) contributes to our community and our culture - it’s what makes SB great and helps us stand out, which is one reason why we were listed on BuiltIn’s Best Places to Work in Boston for 2023! It also helps to accelerate trust, collaboration, and innovation, which in turn leads to better results and customer outcomes. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs at least four times a month. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.

As our Analytics & Insights Principal, you are empowered to:
- Lead the development of our MGA analytics capabilities and reporting environment
- Partner with Product, Underwriting, Pricing to uncover opportunities and build business case to reduce premium/claim leakage, expand appetite and support profitable growth
- Own and deliver our external data deliverables to reinsurance partner, broker, fronting carrier, and statistical agent
- Communicate and present insights and recommendation to internal & external stakeholders
- Collaborate with the broader Data and Analytics community to improve all carriers data & analytics environment
- Mentor and develop other analysts within the team to automate and enhance reporting tools
We’re looking for someone who is:
- An enthusiastic professional with 6 or more years of experience in insurance, preferably with commercial or specialty insurance background
- Advanced data analysis experience and ability to identify areas of opportunity to drive growth
- Strong experience with reporting tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau), SQL/Python & data processing applications (e.g. Snowflake, SaaS)
- Agile, pragmatic, and able to adapt approach where needed in a fast-paced business
