Position Purpose
As our Category Analyst, you will conduct research, analyze data, and develop insights that support category performance and growth. You will partner with Category Managers to identify opportunities to improve sales, margin, assortment, and promotional effectiveness. This role requires strong analytical capability, retail and merchandising knowledge, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make a Difference
• Analyze category performance across sales, margin, market share, and assortment
• Conduct research using internal systems, syndicated data, and vendor inputs
• Evaluate assortment and recommend product mix improvements
• Support pricing, promotion, and shelf placement strategies
• Analyze pricing trends and recommend strategy adjustments
• Perform shelf and space allocation analysis
• Develop promotional recommendations and post-event analysis
• Support and evaluate category marketing plans
• Produce recurring and ad hoc performance reports
• Conduct what‑if analysis for planning and forecasting
• Track consumer trends and identify growth opportunities
• Analyze competitive activity and recommend actions to gain share
• Conduct competitive store visits as needed
• Partner with vendors, brokers, and internal teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally on category execution
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
