Software Integration & Services Manager

Alert Innovation, now powered by Walmart, is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retail through robotics. We’ve partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.

Alert is looking for people who thrive in a fast paced, solutions-oriented, creative environment. The Integrations and Services Manager is responsible for a team that delivers several mission-critical services built with a diverse set of technologies. 

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

• Inspire, mentor, and motivate a team to deliver high quality software on time that meets customer needs
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Be extremely organized and detail oriented to ensure clear communication of project updates and roadmaps.
• Work across software teams to ensure dependencies are coordinated
• Review requirements to ensure they are solving the actual need of the customer, contains enough detail so developers can work on them, and edge conditions are covered to minimize customer issues.
• Ensure designs follow architectural guidelines and help ensure the right balance of time to deliver vs robustness.
• Able to get to ask the right questions to understand problems quickly and resolve them efficiently.
• Work with partners on integration between services with an eye towards scale, delivery on-time and quality.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• At least 5+ years of experience of managing a software team delivering enterprise software.
• Hands on manager who likes to be in the code developing features and solving tough coding problems.
• Desirable to have experience in managing a team that builds services with SpringBoot, Akka, Kubernetes and Kafka.
• An understanding of building and maintaining a micro-services architecture utilizing high availability middleware.
• Experience in managing teams that are distributed and are mix of contractors and full-time people.
• An understanding of test strategies to ensure reliability of a set of services.
• Experience in breaking down and coordination work across several teams. 
• Ability to understand complex technical issues to facilitate resolution by communicating with internal and external technical audiences.
• Ability to assess customer issues and fixes based on priority, timing and risk.   
• Strong communication and presentation skills. 
• Experience with Agile Scrum.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in Software Development
• Experience in managing contractors and remote teams of consultants.
