Location/Schedule: The position is located at the Garlington Health Center located in NE Portland, OR. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Position Description: The Program Medical Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Cascadia’s medical programs. This position helps ensure the delivery of high-quality client care and effective medical services. This position may provide additional one on one support to those we serve.

Compensation: Varies by credential/experience and is pro-rated to FTE.
PMHNP/DNP: $176,657/yr. to $194,320/yr.
MD/DO: $283,660/yr. to $312,034/yr.
Essential Responsibilities

General:
Coordinate on agency issues, with a focus on whole health care, with other Program Medical Directors, including regular meetings with the Lead Program Medical Director for Cascadia.
Provide appropriate and high-quality mental health care to clients that are consistent with community standards, including but not limited to, psychiatric assessments, medication consultation and education, medical necessity and monitoring of outcomes.
Work cooperatively with other treatment team members in the service of client
Work cooperatively with external care providers and support system members in the service of clients.
Provide case consultation to Cascadia clinicians.
Determine medical necessity and appropriateness of mental health services for clients across programs.
Manage and oversee LMP coverage when needed.
Regulatory & Compliance:
Comply with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures under which the program and company operates.
Comply with and manage relevant Contracts, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and Grants.
Respect and honor client rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation that ensures compliance with all agency policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations, and billing requirements.
Adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA requirements.
Understand safety regulations and evacuation procedures; participate in regular safety drills in compliance with program policies and procedures.
Complete assigned employee training in compliance with program and company requirements.
Provide guidance, support, and training to staff in alignment with company mission and values.
Participate in all scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and company meetings.
Utilize Quality Improvement (QI) principles to integrate best practices into the day-to-day operations, including Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing.
Supervisory Oversight:
In collaboration with program leadership, determine staffing requirements, recruit, hire, and train staff in a manner that supports Cascadia’s mission and maintains strategic growth.
Facilitate multidisciplinary staff meetings and training with program to discuss safety concerns, crisis management, complex client needs and risks and critical incidents.
Ensure completion of personal and team documentation as required by assigned programs.
Establish work plans and priorities for staff members, assess the progress of staff members.
