Wolfram|Alpha Junior Technical Analyst [Part-Time] (Independent Contractor)

Job title:  Wolfram|Alpha Junior Technical Analyst

 Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Technical Analyst to join its Wolfram|Alpha Design Analysis department. The Wolfram|Alpha Design Analysis team is responsible for reviewing content for wolframalpha.com and generating content for partners. The Junior Technical Analyst will review new Wolfram|Alpha content before it goes live to the world; suggest content and visual edits to diagrams, schematics and other learning tools; and review step-by-step solutions from a pedagogical perspective. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for working on a wide array of content, from STEM to socioeconomic fields, which are essential to the design of Wolfram|Alpha. The candidate would also write, debug and test code in order to make generation and testing processes more efficient.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing Wolfram|Alpha features before release, including chemistry, physics, socioeconomic and other STEM content
• Leading design review meetings with domain experts, product developers and curation specialists
• Working with a team to develop products and review content for Wolfram|Alpha partners
• Reviewing and curating various Wolfram products, including Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition
• Refactoring existing code to improve efficiency, test coverage and functionality

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• In possession of or currently pursuing a bachelor of science degree (with a preference for individuals who have proficiency in chemistry, biology, physics or a related technical or quantitative field)
• Experience with Wolfram Language
• Experience with Git
• Experience with teaching, tutoring, textbook writing, course design/planning, education technology, etc.

Location: Fully remote and seeking candidates from Mexico, Colombia and Peru
Job type: Part time (up to 30 hours per week)/Independent Contractor
Salary: Dependent on location, candidate’s background and experience
Reporting to: Manager of Design Analysis
