As a Senior Software Engineer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will have the opportunity solve challenging technical problems and contribute in the development, delivery and operation of cloud services that will enable delivery of novel consumer video applications. The charter is responsibility for design, implementation and operation of a new set of cloud services focused specifically on the digital media production industry. Product areas include virtual animation workstation service, digital asset management, high performance storage, render farm as a service, license management and production pipeline management services. This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from the ground up and extend the reach of OCI to address green field opportunities in the media and entertainment industry.  

  

You will work with a talented group of software developers, designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world class cloud development environment. For this engineering role we are seeking an individual with experience in enterprise level software development, delivery and operation of cloud services at the technical level. Prior experience and domain knowledge in media production pipeline infrastructure services used in film, animation and game development studios is a plus. Senior Software Engineer is an individual contributor role that requires a track record of success and technical depth as a software developer. We seek individuals with evolved soft skills in addition to technical acumen. Excellent communication and the ability to collaborate with others are hallmarks.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, validate, and document major components of a distributed, service-oriented architecture.
Collaborate with architects and peer technical leads to deliver features. 
Ensure automated and reliable deployment of services end-to-end including foundational infrastructure and required dependencies.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization. 
Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence. 
Work effectively across geographically distributed engineering teams. 
Establish, inform, and ensure compliance with software development standards, processes and best practices.


Qualifications

BS/CS Computer Science or related field and 5+ years software development experience using modern programming languages. Prior experience with Java and/or Go is expected.
Proven experience in large-scale software development, specifically for cloud services and distributed systems
Relevant background in deriving insights to deliver seamless video viewing experience at scale
Expertise in development, deployment, and operations of highly scalable cloud microservices using Kubernetes.
Hands on experience developing real-time high-performance data pipelines using Kafka, Flink or similar
Hands on experience building real-time monitoring and visualization dashboards using Grafana, Prometheus or similar
Experience building Generative AI based tools for video insights generation and anomaly detection, issue identification and mitigation 
Prior background on new or “greenfield” projects for cloud services as an impact driven leader
Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams. 
A strong sense of ownership and initiative backed by a willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and contribute wherever necessary to help deliver a new product.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
