Purpose

As a leader of the Kendra Scott Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute team, the Assistant Director role will provide project and programming ownership, team management, operational leadership, and stakeholder support to Institute student programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Program and Project Management

  • Plans, promotes and manages all aspects of all KS WELI program and event efforts, including workshops, series, signature events, founder programming, networking and Student Board programming. This includes setting project schedules, managing event budget, and creating event processes and procedures as well as leading strategy of event marketing campaigns, managing vendor relationships, contracts and staff.

  • In collaboration with KS WELI Director, identify strategic projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of KS WELI operations and align with the strategic plan for future growth. This will include all aspect of project development and implementation, including identifying project schedules, risks and deliverables as well as KSWELI change management and adoption.

Supervisory and Administration

  • Supervise, hire, train, evaluate, and KS WELI Staff and Student Employees. Supervise Full-Time professional KS WELI across programming and communication and indirectly support supervision of administrative position.

  • Supervise and manage Student Employee organization, directly and/or indirectly.

  • Support Director with day-to-day operational needs of KS WELI, including office backup support and co-curricular initiatives including:

    • Assist with creating, collecting data, analyzing, and preparing reports on the success of KS WELI initiatives.
    • Serve as a KS WELI representative to the Kendra Scott Center stakeholders located in the College of Fine Arts, including creation of standard processes, center best practices, and building good relationships with the other stakeholders.
    • Assist in management of the KS WELI budget. Lead regular development activities to promote team building and collaboration, as well as individual development.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Partnerships

Leads partnership and development management efforts including:

  • Assist in maintaining and facilitating KS WELI’s relationship with current and future sponsors.

  • Assists with Kendra Scott LLC requests (local media coverage, events, KS WELI impact stats, student partnership opportunities, etc).

  • Assist with advisory board management.

  • Meet with local entrepreneurs, Texas alumni, and companies to create opportunities to engage students in a way that aligns with the mission of KS WELI (internships, mentors, event speakers, sponsors, etc).

  • Represents the program at professional committees, events and organizations.

  • Maintains frequent interaction with university departments
