About the Role:
The Revenue Marketing team at PitchBook is critical for fueling the company’s growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to support our Sales and Customer Success departments’ growth and retain our client base at a predictable scale. This broader organization is ultimately responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing targeted, engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies and enabling the Sales and Customer Success representatives with an appropriate methodology to drive full-funnel pipeline conversions.
As a Customer Lifecycle Analytics Data Scientist at PitchBook, your role is pivotal in harnessing data and analytics to enhance our customers’ journey. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze customer behavior, identify insights and craft data-driven strategies for improving customer acquisition, retention and satisfaction.
Your responsibilities include constructing and analyzing intricate datasets derived from customer interactions and engagement. You will then communicate actionable insights to stakeholders, illustrating the impact of different business segments on Sales and Customer Success. Your insights will inform data-driven decision-making across the company concerning current and future customers, as well as investment strategies to support our growth objectives. This role plays a critical part in helping the Revenue Marketing organization optimize full-funnel programs, driving targeted demand and increasing return on investment.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer and marketing data to identify patterns, trends and opportunities throughout the customer lifecycle
- Explore customer touchpoints and interactions to gain insights into their preferences and behavior
- Develop predictive models to forecast customer behaviors, such as churn, lifetime value, conversion rates and purchase propensity
- Use machine learning algorithms to create personalized recommendations for customers
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Product teams to tailor strategies for different customer segments
- Design and implement a comprehensive measurement framework to track KPIs related to customer engagement, satisfaction and loyalty
- Implement marketing attribution models to determine the impact of various marketing channels and touchpoints on conversions and revenue
- Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments to optimize customer interactions and to test marketing strategies
- Create data dashboards and reports to visualize customer analytics findings for internal stakeholders and automate reporting process to provide real-time insights
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Product, Sales and Customer Success teams to align strategies and initiatives with customer insights
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data quality checks and validation process
- Contribute to data governance initiatives and best practices
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics or a related field
- 3+ year previous experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on customer and marketing analytics
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling and machine learning
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python or R
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Shiny, etc.)
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of customer data platforms (CDP) and CRM systems
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for using data to drive business decisions
