The Director of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of construction projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within scope, and on budget. This role involves supervising project teams, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, managing resources, and implementing operational policies to improve efficiency and quality. This role ensures that projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Director of Operations provides leadership to superintendents and crews, while also managing client relationships and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight:  
    • Plan, direct, and manage multiple construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards. 
    • Review project schedules, budgets, and progress to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. 
    • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure contract compliance. 
    • Resolve conflicts, delays, or operational challenges as they arise. 
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support superintendents, and field staff; provide coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations. 
    • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, site supervisors, and field staff. 
    • Allocate resources, assign responsibilities, and monitor performance of construction teams. 
    • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across all operations. 
  • Budget & Financial Management:  
    • Help manage project budgets, cost controls, and profitability targets. 
    • Review contracts, bids, and change orders. 
    • Work closely with accounting and executive teams on financial reporting and forecasting. 
  • Fleet Oversight 
    • Strategic planning, coordination, maintenance, safety, compliance, and optimization of a company’s vehicles and heavy equipment. 
  • Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity; resolve conflicts and ensure optimal use of resources. 
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce company and regulatory safety policies; conduct regular site visits and safety audits. 
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality assurance processes to meet specifications and client expectations. 
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers; ensure regular updates and resolve issues promptly. 
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate operational workflows; implement best practices, technology, and training to improve efficiency. 
  • Reporting: Prepare regular project status repor
