About the role

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Radiation Oncology team. The PA or NP will work closely with radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing radiation treatment for cancer.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include conducting inpatient and outpatient assessments, assisting with treatment planning and delivery, monitoring patient progress, managing side effects, and providing education and emotional support to patients and families. The PA will also document patient information and contribute to interdisciplinary care coordination.

Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner’s must have MSN and must be a licensed RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Physician Assistant must have an MPA.  Must be a licensed Physician Assistant within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Prior experience preferably in a human services-related field, such as  nursing or health sciences or education required.  

 

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

 

  • Knowledge of or experience working in Radiation Oncology or oncology-related field 
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
