VP of Business Development

We are currently seeking an experienced VP of Business Development to join Scout as a key member of our executive team. This role will report to Scout's CEO. The successful candidate will play a crucial hands-on role in owning and growing Scout’s business opportunities as we drive forward our company’s mission. Additionally, this role includes strategic cooperation with our engineering and program personnel, focusing on the development and leadership of space sector growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Scout’s leadership team to identify, prioritize, and pursue meaningful business opportunities
• Proactively engage with customers to understand and shape their current and future needs, requirements, and policies.
• Pursue business opportunities domestically and internationally, including targeted opportunities with US and allied military and intelligence customers.
• Promote our capabilities, architectures, applications, and data products within the commercial sector.
• Engage with the defense and commercial space communities through various forums to promote our business.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven track record in identifying, pursuing, and capturing business opportunities in the space industry
• Deep experience in the space industry, preferably within the space domain awareness (SDA) domain
• Ability to collaborate seamlessly with diverse technical teams both internal and external to Scout.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build and manage a pipeline of revenue-generating opportunities.
• Knowledge of key industry technologies, capabilities, and their alignments with USG and commercial mission requirements.
• Deep understanding of business development, capture, proposal, and program management practices.
• Experience with CRM tools
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government final security clearance at the Top-Secret / SCI level. Active Top Secret Clearances with SCI & Polygraph is preferred.

Additional Preferred Experience:

• Direct experience developing, delivering, and winning proposals to USG customers.
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace
