DSG Survivor Rights & Resources Database Internship

DSG Survivor Rights & Resources Database Intern will play a key role in supporting the Domestic, Sexual, and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Initiative (DSG) by assisting with the development and management of a comprehensive database on survivor-relevant policies, rights and relevant resources that support survivors after they have been harmed. The intern will conduct research to curate and compile data as well as support the development of tools/strategies to enhance access to this information for survivors and service providers.

 

Duties:

• Researching laws, policies, and resources, impacting survivors of gender-based violence in MA (workers protections, rights related to mandated reporting 51As, Title IX protections, Housing etc.)
• Reaching out to legal experts, advocates, and organizations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information compiled. The intern will not be expected to parse complex legal language or provide legal interpretations but will play a crucial role in building relationships with legal experts who can support the DSG in the creation of this database. By collaborating with these professionals, The scholar will help ensure that the database reflects current and accurate legal knowledge, which will be made accessible and actionable for survivors and service providers.
• Supporting the director in curating and organizing a survivor centered resource database for easy access by survivors, service providers, and the public.
• Supporting outreach efforts to ensure broad dissemination of the resource database. The intern will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of materials and creation of training curriculum on survivor rights for service providers engaging in direct service work.

Qualifications

Current undergraduate student in public health, or related field.
