Purpose
The ICT Director for the North America region plays a critical role in shaping the organization’s technology landscape, collaborate closely with business leaders, ensuring alignment between IT strategy and overall corporate objectives. The role guides and supports a team of IT specialists and promotes collaboration, innovation, and standardization. The IT Director is responsible for driving digital transformation within the region. This role is essential to prepare the company for business events such as mergers, product acquisitions, and significant organizational changes.
Main Responsibilities
• Strategic Vision and Business Partnership:
o Collaborate with the Leadership Teams (Commercial and Rare Disease) to envision future changes and industry trends in the digital marketplace.
o Identify opportunities and threats related to new digital technologies, contributing to change management programs.
o Maintain a healthy dialogue with the Head of Business Application Innovation (BAI) for the above initiatives.
• Business Alignment:
o Actively engage with business leaders and serve as the primary point of contact for ICT matters in the region.
o Analyze and understand business requirements, working closely with the Global IT Center of Excellence (CoE) to define appropriate solutions.
o Strive for harmonization and standardization of IT solutions across the company.
• Global Mindset and Governance:
o Align with the Global Information and Communication Technology (GICT) Reference Book.
o Promote a global mindset in local projects, collaborating with the Head of BAI, Head of Technical Services & Solutions (TS&S), and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
• Budgeting and Project Management:
o Govern the GICT budgeting process for the region according to Global Finance guidelines.
o Ensure coherent management of the local/regional project portfolio within defined budgets and plans.
o Evaluate the return on investment (ROI) of technology projects by tracking metrics and assessing business impact.
• Organizational Efficiency and Development:
o Design and size the regional ICT organization based on local business requirements and complexity.
o Foster continuous professional development for local ICT teams.
