Department Summary

The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create transformational experiences for all HSC students by providing tailored support and fostering holistic development. There are 8 functional units within the Division of Student Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office of Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center.

Position Overview

This position supports the Office of Care and Civility as the project lead for the campus Quality Enhancement Project, Be|Well. Be|Well focuses on wellbeing, emotional intelligence, and resilience. This position will be responsible for the design, creation, management, and evaluation of student programming as it relates to Be|Well. This will be done in collaboration with Emotional Intelligence Champions and Wellbeing Champions for the campus and within each program.

This position also serves on university committees as appropriate and prepares regular reports on project progress to key campus leaders. The Assistant Director also manages documentation and ensures alignment with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards in collaboration with the Office of University Assessment and Accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams across different campus units.
  • Ability to lead programming for online and in person student populations.
  • Working knowledge of student wellbeing topics.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in Higher Education, Health, or other related field. Experience with wellbeing programming and program evaluation. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Job Duties:

  • Developing project goals, using assessments to monitor progress, and compiling reports related to Be|Well data.Ā 
  • Collaborating with OCC staff and other university partners to design, implement, and map university-wide activities to identified goals and outcomes.
