Job Description

As a key member of Global Merchant Sales and Acquiring (GMS&A) team, this candidate will play a critical role in the Strategic Initiatives for the MS&A organization. The role will support the MS&A business at Visa – a team that drives the acceptance side of Visa’s business, ensuring that the MS&A sales organization is effective in providing client value and promoting adoption of Visa products and solutions. This person will report directly to the Vice President, Global Head of Strategy & Business Operations for Global Merchant Sales & Acquiring.

 

The ideal candidate will work with minimal guidance in a fast paced, ambiguous work environment, and will have the ability to independently translate high level guidance into detailed deliverables. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in hands-on environments, capable of diving into the work, taking ownership, and delivering results without the need for constant supervision or managerial oversight. He/she will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and executive presence.

 

The employee is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Lead projects or major project workstreams related to strategy, business development, or corporate initiatives
  • Manage the day-to-day project and team activities to meet project goals and timelines
  • Structure and solve business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues. Build out unique, creative and impactful solutions by integrating insights across Visa's many expert functional resources and supporting collaborative solution development
  • Develop rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations. Ensure strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendations
  • Work closely with cross-functional and regional management teams on strategic projects, bringing timely and useful insight and analytical support
  • Communicate recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise and impactful way
  • Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives and accelerate progress on key priorities
  • Acquirer, processor, Merchant, FinTech, non-FI landscape/opportunity analyses and creating actionable strategies on the changing environment for Visa’s distributors and recommended actions to address our dynamic client needs
  • Develop processes for improving and sharing best practices to drive NPS, deal performance, strategic engagement

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Typically requires 7-9 years total experience with 3-4+ years of post-graduate experience in management consulting or corporate strategy preferred or have worked directly at an acquirer processor or merchant in the payments department.
  • Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry preferred
  • Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
  • Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes w
