Summary

Plans, directs, and controls daily operational activities for the radiology department; manages personnel, technical, and financial issues in the department; ensures the quality of services and the achievement of strategic and budgetary goals.

Job Description

Directs diagnostic imaging services for the radiology departments and ensures compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures. Adopts and applies methods to measure and improve the quality of diagnostic imaging services provided by different departments and improve customer satisfaction. Manages personnel, finance, and cost control activities in the radiology departments. Ensures achievement of job targets and budgetary goals. Controls the safety of diagnostic imaging service activities and creates a safe environment for patients, staff, and the public. May have radiologist oversight responsibilities. May have direct responsibility over the radiology school program. Completes other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years past experience commensurate with areas of responsibility; Master’s degree is preferred including coursework related to organizational science and management concepts or demonstrated equivalent competencies.



Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Maintenance of AART certification is required. If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board of Examiners is required.
