About Dexcom’s Summer Intern Program:

Looking to spend your summer working with innovative technology and changing the lives of patients with diabetes? Dexcom’s U.S. 12-week internship program provides an experience driven program aimed at developing the next generation of talent. Our onsite, hybrid, and remote work models ensure that we can invite diverse and talented intern classes from across the country. Interns will have the chance to gain knowledge and develop their skills while contributing to key company projects and initiatives. Dexcom interns have earned the nickname of “Game Changers” based on their ability to leave a lasting impact on our organization. Internship Department Details:  

• Department Name: R&D - Advanced Research and Technology Department

• Business Function:  R&D

• Team Highlights: In this role you will be part of the Advanced Research and Technology team that focuses on evaluating and establishing the feasibility of next-generation technologies and products at Dexcom. This role will focus on supporting the characterization of devices used in Clinical and Pre-Clinical studies.

Where you come in:

• Support device characterization efforts of Clinical and Pre-Clinical study devices. Additionally, support Clinical study evaluations of new technologies

• Support failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem solving to drive the understanding of in vivo device failures

• Plan and execute post Clinical experiments for sensor and device performance characterization

• Establish and track metrics for Clinical failures across studies and programs to better determine frequency and possible root causes and/or critical parameters increasing/decreasing failures

• Work cross-functionally with R&D, new markets, and external partners to develop and characterize new product development efforts

• Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of root cause analysis methods and ability to utilize structured problem-solving methodologies

• Exposure to data analysis methods and software

• Knowledge of analytical and experimental skills and an engineering mindset

• Highly motivated, strong work ethic, organized, and detailed oriented

• Highly flexible and able to shift priorities as needed.

• Self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills.

• Effective technical writing skills, including ability to write protocols, technical reports, and documents
