Shift: Day

Time Type: PRN

Position Summary
• Responsible for patient care under the supervision of an attending physician.

Education
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from a CAHEA accredited program
• Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing Studies from a CCNEA accredited program.

Licenses and Certification

•    Current Illinois Licensed Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
•    Current NCCPA certificate as a Physician Assistant or AACC certificate as an Advanced Practice Nurse  
•    Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner controlled substance licensure
•    DEA registration
•    FMCSA – National registry of certified medical examiners (within 6 months of hire)
•    NIOSH approved spirometry training (preferred)
•    ACOEM membership/certification (preferred)

Experience
• Technical Experience: 1 years

Role Specific Responsibilities

•    Safety
o    Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
•    Record Keeping
o    Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
•    Process Improvement
o    Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in
unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
o    Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
•    Role Specific Responsibilities
o    Serve as a role model and leader for the clinical team
o    Provides ambulatory care to patients in an Urgent Care setting
•    Ensure comprehensive care for patients of all ages
•    Conduct patient assessments and consultations
•    Develop and implement individualized care plans
•    Prescribe medications as needed
•    Procedures to include EKG and X-ray interpretation, abscess incision and drainage, infection management, splinting of fractures, laceration repair and medication administration
•    Communicate test results, follow-up care, and treatment plans
o    Performs examinations/procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician.
•    Physical Examinations (pre-employment, DOT and post-injury).
•    Soft Tissue Injury/Treatment (knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system)
•    Pulmonary Evaluations
•    Cardiovascular Evaluations (examine and interpret EKG)
•    Neurological Evaluations (evaluate, diagnose and treat, concussions and post concussive syndromes)
•    Review, and order Radiology tests and perform preliminary review
•    Review and interpret Audiology findings, following OSHA guidelines
•    Vision/Eye Injuries (evaluate, diagnose and treat)
•    Lacerations (demonstrate ability to repair/suture)
•    Blood Borne Pathogen exposure 
•    Appropriately refer to specialist when needed
•    Follow occupational medicine guidelines as they relate to the following:
•    OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration
•    FMCSA – Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
•    ACOEM – American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine
•    NIOSH – National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
•    ADA – Americans with Disabilities Act
•    NDASA – National Drug and Alcohol screening Association
•    CAOHC – Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation
o    Completes education necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for position
o    Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based practices and industry standards

Compensation (Commensurate with experience):

$107,120.00 - $184,995.20
