Through our software, we’re constantly stretching boundaries to do more for our customers. We are proud to be an organization where our vision, values and cultural beliefs are not just shared, but are lived by our people globally and where recognition is part of each and every day.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>As a <strong>key</strong><strong> member of the </strong><strong>Architecture and Practices team</strong>, the <u><strong>Senior Automation</strong></u><u><strong> Engineer</strong></u> is responsible for finding and driving automation in a wide variety of areas from Customer Technology products to Technology Resilience to Patterns &amp; Practices.  </p><p>In <strong>Customer Technology</strong> products, automation opportunities abound across shared services like DevSecOps, networking, client connectivity, DNS, security benchmarking, capacity management, IAM, key management and more. </p><p>In <strong>Technology Resilience</strong>, there is opportunity for automating steps that are executed during Disaster Recovery tests and other related technology resilience activities, such as High Availability and backup recovery testing. These are the activities that ensure Finastra technology continues to deliver business critical services (including Client managed services and enterprise shared services), during emergencies.  </p><p>In <strong>Patterns &amp; Practices</strong>, automation might take the form of mail relay, Azure components, OS migrations, image management, desired state configuration, and more. </p><p>The Senior Automation Engineer will work collaboratively with management, scrum masters, Disaster Recovery engineers, Domain Architects, Solution Architects and critically the Cloud Automation team to guide the definition, creation (scripting), deployment, testing and staff enablement of required automation activities.  </p><p> </p><p><u><strong>Responsibilities &amp; Deliverables:   </strong></u></p><p>Your deliverables as Senior Automation Engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following:  </p><p>Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements </p><p>Designs and develops high-quality code </p><p>Tests, debugs, analyzes and fixes application problems/issues </p><p>Works closely with stakeholders to fix issues in a timely fashion </p><p>Follows the software development lifecycle process</p><p>Interacts with internal stakeholders to support product releases and/or resolve program problems </p><p>Other duties and projects as assigned </p><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><u><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience </strong></u></p><p><strong>Technical skills: </strong></p><p><u>Must have:</u></p><ul><li><p>7+ years of experience in IT  </p></li><li><p>3+ years of experience in an automation or development role  </p></li><li><p>Unix Shell Scripting, RESTful APIs, SQL</p></li><li><p>Proven experience of 12 Factor principles <a href="https://12factor.net/"><u>https://12factor.net/</u></a> </p></li><li><p>Experience of a minimum of a single solution within each category of the Periodic Table of DevOps <a href="https://digital.ai/periodic-table-of-devops-tools"><u>https://digital.ai/periodic-table-of-devops-tools</u></a> (except AIOps/Analytics which is desirable)</p></li><li><p>Understanding of Cloud Concepts - Public Clouds AWS, Azure (esp.), GCP </p></li><li><p>Good Understanding of networking</p></li><li><p>Good working knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes </p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of orchestration and configuration tools (Ansible required)</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) </p></li><li><p>Diploma or Bachelors in Computer Science or related area of study from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience </p></li></ul><p> </p><p><u>Nice to have:</u></p><ul><li><p>NodeJS, JavaScript</p></li><li><p>Angular, NestJS, HTML, CSS, Material Design</p></li><li><p>Puppet or Chef</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with up-to-date DR strategies and methodologies </p></li><li><p>Knowledge of replication tools (ASR, Zerto, DataGuard, Double-Take, etc.)</p></li>
