Job Summary
As the Senior Director of Data Governance, you will be the architect of our data governance strategy, responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of our data assets. Reporting to the VP of Master Data Management & Data Policy, you will collaborate with senior leaders, business stakeholders, and data stewards to establish a robust data governance framework that supports our business objectives and cultivates a data-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Define and articulate the vision, goals, and roadmap for the data governance function.
- Build and mentor a successful team, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data governance practices with business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic partner, ensuring our data delivers value and drives organizational outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, delivering regular updates on data governance initiatives and their impact.
Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Policy and governance strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
- Stay ahead of industry developments in data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Explore and adopt emerging trends and technologies to enhance data governance capabilities.
Data Governance
- Design and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
- Lead the establishment of a data governance council and working groups to drive initiatives and decision-making.
- Lead all aspects of data stewardship programs, ensuring clear accountability and ownership of data assets.
- Implement processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure data governance effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, governance, quality, security, privacy, and compliance.
- At least 5 years of experience leading and managing data governance programs, teams, and projects.
- Consistent track record of successfully implementing data governance programs from the ground up.
- Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, policies, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data quality management, data security, privacy, and compliance.
- Expertise in the procurement and food/support services industry, including data domains, assets, sources, flows, requirements, and regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
