The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is the state of Florida’s social services agency. The agency oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, human trafficking and public assistance. The agency’s mission is to work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency.

Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders.

THIS IS PENDING RECLASSIFICATION. 

 

This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as the Senior Strategic Operations Administrator for the state mental health treatment facilities. This position will support the state’s state mental health treatment facility’s system of care by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies.  This position will work closely with Substance Abuse and Mental Health leadership to drive strategic growth, continuous improvement, optimal clinical operations, excellent patient care and outcomes and best practices.  This position will work with senior management to develop and execute ongoing strategic planning, initiatives as well as operational and resource planning.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, plan and execute operational efficiencies and establishes/recommends processes for operational excellence and innovation.
  • Maintains effective communication with support offices and key strategic partners across the hospital network.
  • Facilitate the development of State Mental Health Treatment Facilities’ strategic plan and annual plan updates; serve as the lead project manager for State Mental Health Treatment Facilities’ enterprise-wide projects; Mange all project plans as approved by leadership; track overall progress and compliance with approved project plans; prepare management status reports.
  • Assist with monitoring financial resources and strategic investments to support facility operations.
  • Assist with the oversight of contractual, compensation, operational, human resource, financial, and other practice management needs.
  • Provides collaborative advice in a supportive but direction setting manner. Thinks strategically but able to provide hands-on guidance in the tactical, day to day activities, leading to sound recommendations and best practice outcomes.
