Senior Manager, YouTube

Reporting to the Director of Off-Platform Production, the Senior Manager, YouTube will lead efforts in the scaling up of YouTube production and optimization for Yahoo Sports.

Responsibilities:

• Refine scheduling and uploading processes to maximize growth and reach of the Yahoo Sports channel

• Oversee execution of tagging, thumbnail creation and headline writing

• Stay abreast of platform innovations and create processes to ensure Yahoo Sports content surfaces in the constantly evolving environment

• Use YouTube Studio and analytics to inform content decisions

• Analyze audience data and trends, and communicate learning points and opportunities to content producers and leadership

• Manage the growing number of YouTube subchannels under the Yahoo Sports umbrella

• Increase audience and engagement across our YouTube network

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 6+ years of post-collegiate or professional work experience in media

• A deep well of experience and passion for YouTube content and how the platform operates

• Prior experience working with a brand’s (read: not personal) YouTube channel

• High aptitude for data analysis and the communication skills to distill that information into succinct learning points

• Proficiency in the Adobe creative suite, especially Premiere and Photoshop

• Strong understanding of SEO best practices for YouTube and other social media platforms

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

• Creative mindset with the ability to brainstorm and implement innovative content strategies

• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with content creators, designers, and other stakeholders

• Experience with social media management tools and analytics platforms beyond YouTube Studio

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and insights to various teams

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
