About the Role
Braven is entering into a new phase of exponential growth and an exciting opportunity to concretely advance the economic mobility of 80,000-100,000 Fellows in the near future. To that end, Braven is seeking a masterful programmatic operator to join the City College of New York (CCNY) team as the Program Manager, Accelerator (PMA.) This role has the opportunity to grow a regional program and advance Braven’s national impact.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director of CCNY, the PMA will be responsible for facilitating and leading the execution of the Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator course for up to ~1,750 students within three years, increasing their likelihood of graduating college with a strong first job or getting into graduate school. The PMA will also manage ~12 graders and ~1 part-time student intern.
What You’ll Do
Accelerator Program Management (65%)
Fully manage the facilitation and execution of the Braven Accelerator course and lightly support the post-course experience for CCNY. This includes but is not limited to:
- Hire and manage a team of up to 12 graders to monitor students’ progress and analyze content mastery, attendance, and engagement data
- Intervene where necessary in order to reach outcomes goals tied to content mastery, attendance, and engagement.
- Support the coordination of a strong course experience for approximately 500 students and 100 volunteers per year.
- Collaborate closely with the Director, Workforce to establish and maintain a structured plan for Fellows, ensuring they are progressing toward securing internships and build awareness of post accelerator course programming, facilitating their access to valuable educational and career development opportunities.
- Craft compelling weekly communications through email and discussion boards that encourage Leadership Coach engagement and build community.
- Share responsibility for all Fellow outcome based goals with the other Program Manager, Accelerator at CCNY.
- Observe weekly Learning Labs, specifically for high need Leadership Coaches and provide curated support.
- Serve as a substitute facilitator for CCNY’s other Program Manager, Accelerator as needed.
- Help create an engaging and welcoming environment for students and volunteers by co-hosting weekly Learning Lab sessions, as needed.
Leadership Coach and Coaching Partner Recruitment, Coaching, & Development Support (15%)
- Conduct interviews with potential Leadership Coaches and Coaching Partners to assess their qualifications, alignment with the organization's values, and suitability for supporting Fellows.
- Collaborate with the Regional Managing Director on supporting the development of Leadership Coaches by observing them and providing feedback on their facilitation and coaching.
A+ Team/Management (15%)
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage graders and part-time student interns.
- Participate in individual annual and quarterly planning.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, Workforce Strategy to cultivate a strong Fellow experience, and lightly support the post-course experience.
- Collaborate with Braven’s central teams and their counterparts in other Braven regions to align on best practices for Accelerator execution.
- Other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Brand/Sustainability (5%)
- Help build Braven’s brand by sharing with Braven’s NYC and the External Affairs teams compelling stories, flagging exceptional students, and highlighting Leadership Coaches.
