The Flash Module team builds amazing and giant Direct Flash Modules (DFM’s) that enable the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, and high-availability products.  The team delivers a family of high quality products that are the foundation of Pure Storage’s success. We develop a highly focused feature set that is exactly correct for our engineering partners, enabling the end product quicker, and better. What You Will Be Doing

Pure Storage is seeking a full-time Firmware Engineer to join our device firmware team. You will be working as part of a tight and dynamic team and will be responsible for:

• Designing, implementing, and testing firmware of Pure Storage’s DirectFlash™ SSD Modules
• Coding and testing in C/C++ and Python
• Bringing up and enabling new hardware components, and developing low level firmware features
• Investigating and debugging issues, and developing failure analysis tools and process
• Internal development automation including continuous integration, automated unit and regression testing, etc
• Working closely with hardware, system software and manufacturing teams

This position is particularly focused on PCIe skills, including controller bring-up, debugging, and coaching colleagues on necessary PCIe behaviors.

What You Bring to the Team

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong understanding of software/firmware test and release processes
• Strong experience with PCIe Device Firmware Development
• Experience using Python, C/C++  or related programming languages  
• Familiar with embedded software or firmware development
• Experience with Storage-focused SoCs
• Good verbal communication & collaboration skills
• Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment
• Ready to collaborate and innovate in partnership with hardware and host software teams

You will be based in Santa Clara. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

The salary range for this position is: $136,000-$238,000 per year. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
