Meet the team:

Dexcom is seeking a Senior IP Systems Specialist, who will join our IP Ops team at Dexcom.  The Sr. IP Systems Specialist will report to the Director, IP Legal Counsel, Operations and Compliance.  

Dexcom’s IP Operations team is responsible for optimizing IP services, driving IP projects, and managing IP systems and processes, while working collaboratively with global IP professionals, outside counsel, Dexcom legal operations colleagues, and legal operations vendors.  This role is critical in ensuring that the IP team is innovating, improving, and handling IP matters efficiently and effectively.  We are looking for a motivated self-starter, who can think creatively about challenging issues, is passionate about problem solving, and can use analytical expertise to proactively drive solutions, and enjoys working as a team.

Where you come in:

The Dexcom IP OPs team has overall responsibility for managing IP systems and processes for the IP team.   This position take responsibility for:

  • Programming and systems-side management of our IP software systems including Anaqua  and Acclaim IP, and other systems as necessary. Main responsibilities include, ensuring implementation of substantive workflow, law, and rule changes, maintaining data integrity, developing, and maintaining reports in the Anaqua and HyperView environment, and supervising, coordinating, monitoring, and programming processes within Anaqua.

  • Support and systems-side management of our Brightflag billing system, including upgrades, tickets with Brightflag support and technical concerns or issues with integrations between systems.

  • Help design and implement best practices and documentation for our systems and the workflow playbook for all systems.

  • Generate workflows, document management and request intake systems using Microsoft tools such as SharePoint and Power Apps.

  • Provide agile programming and workflow implementation in support of our IP Legal team.  Must be comfortable with rapid change of direction and improvement on-the-fly in pursuit of driving design, implementation and maintenance of our systems and project objectives.

  • Collaborate with legal operations colleagues on law department processes, including billing, ticketing, document management, and other systems.

  • Be comfortable with learning Dexcom procedures in order to be more efficient with back-end systems programming

  • Provide input for developing and implementing user training, including user guides for Dexcom associates and outside counsel.

  • As needed, assist other IP Legal OPs team members with their day-to-day tasks, e.g., in view of vacation, workloads, volume, etc.

What makes you successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or system programming background with significant relevant experience.

  • At least 4-5 years of related experience

  • Extensive experience programming IP management/docketing software (Anaqua strongly preferred), Microsoft tools, as well as billing systems (Brightflag or Legal Tracker preferred).

  • Experience generally with document management syste
