Mission of Role/Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Project Manager to join our team for a post-fire recovery project in the Santa Fe National Forest. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing various project components, ensuring timely and successful completion of deliverables, and providing effective project management services. This is a critical role in facilitating the integrated response and recovery approach following the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon wildfire.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

    • Manage critical portions of projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
    • Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
    • Identify potential impacts/implications of policy changes to Federal/State/local programs and provide briefings as required.
    • During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support or co-lead relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.
    • Schedule and facilitate up to 36 bi-weekly project and planning team planning meetings, including drafting agendas and documenting meeting minutes. ​
    • Prepare up to 36 bi-weekly project briefings to the ranger, providing updates on project status, milestones, and significant developments. ​
    • Develop and submit monthly reports of project plans, status, and schedules, including presentation and discussion of program priorities, accomplishments, risk management, and problem areas. ​
    • Collect and document data on project progress and develop regular progress reports, including budget and accomplishments tracking for partnership agreements, contracts, and district projects. ​
    • Draft program and project management documents as needed, including project plans and requirements. ​
    • Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring task completion according to the schedule and keeping it current on a weekly basis. ​
    • Coordinate with district personnel to manage project schedules, track milestones and accomplishments, and assist with administration of contracts and/or agreements. ​
    • Provide assistance in the development of acquisition packages and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Forest Service personnel to address any contractual issues and proactively communicate potential concerns. ​
    • Maintain/pursue ongoing knowledge, certifications, and subject matter expertise as appropriate.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
