A Day in the Life

As a Senior Engineering Supervisor within Manufacturing Operations at Medtronic, you have a leading role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and reliability of equipment and processes utilized in the production of batteries used in life-saving cardiac devices.

You will lead a team of technicians and technical experts to achieve both daily production goals and long-term equipment improvement projects. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing maintenance best-practices and guide the professional growth of your team. Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Process Development, and Device Design & Reliability you will contribute to the integration of new equipment and technologies to enhance manufacturing performance.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems.

• May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.

• Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.

• Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.

• Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.

• Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.

• Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.

• Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.

• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, OR advanced degree with minimum 1 year of experience.

Nice to Have:

• 3+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

• Experience supervising manufacturing staff, handling all aspects of talent management, including hiring, coaching, scheduling, and disciplinary procedures.

• Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices.

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

• Excellent communication and project management skills.

• Work experience with the following: FDA Quality System Regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO 13485, ISO 9001 standards or equivalent.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$124,000.00 - $186,000.00
