Florida State Hospital (FSH) is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to deliver top-tier mental health care and expert psychiatric services. The role involves patient evaluations, medication management, court-mandated reports, and active participation in treatment teams. The Psychiatrist will play a crucial role in providing individualized, evidence-based care to both civil and forensic patients while contributing to hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Clinical Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Forensic Duties: Prepare court-ordered reports, provide expert testimony, and collaborate with legal teams on patient competency cases.
  • Team Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary treatment teams, mentor staff, and recommend educational needs to enhance patient care.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in performance initiatives, review data, and implement corrective actions to improve outcomes.
  • Hospital Committees: Engage in key hospital functions, including MEC and Forensic Board Review meetings, and contribute to policy decisions.
