Requirements

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) holds a critical role within SOPHiA GENETICS and forms a crucial link between the market and our R&D team to communicate all relevant inputs from the field to continuously grow our solution portfolio.

Senior Field Application Specialists (Sr FAS) are part of the Genomic Research Laboratory team. They are responsible to train and support customers on all SOPHiA GENETICS Bundle Solutions. They closely interact with Sale Department and CAPM teams to feedback customer’s needs. As part of the laboratory team Sr FAS participate in ongoing laboratory projects like protocol optimizations. They also support their team by writing scientific and quality documentations like fact sheet and working instruction respectively.

The Field Application Specialist position requires frequent travel between the SOPHiA laboratory in Switzerland and customer sites across the United States. Most of our clients currently lie on the east coast.

RESPONSIBILITES

Customer training and support

• Provide appropriate training to customers on product usage and product upgrades, manage customer support
• Build effective relationships with new and existing clients for field application purpose, monitor the customer feedback on product usage.

Internal Laboratory participation

• Elaborate laboratory documents related to his expertise domain.
• Train internal and external collaborators related to his expertise domain.
• Participate to the Quality Assessment process: write and review working instructions.

Product Development

• Take feedback from customers regarding their product requirements, communicating their needs to the CAPM team for better product design and potentially to implement the marketing strategy accordingly
• Coordinate with the development and/or marketing team for proper implementation of product in the market.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Working Experience

• Graduate or Post-graduate degree in the field of biotechnology like molecular biology or biochemistry
• Minimum 2 years of working experiences with next generation sequencing technology
• Proven good customer support experiences

Other Experience & Skills

• Excellent customer relations & service skills
• Willing to travel to various locations for executing trainings and any customer supports
• Good scientific communication, oral and written
