Job Summary:

As an Sr. Agricultural Systems Technician, you would be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment for a poultry production plant. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance. Will perform periodic testing, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

1. Under minimal supervision, repair and perform advanced maintenance on agriculture/industrial machinery (i.e., mechanical, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using manufactures recommendations and company SOPs to ensure equipment is performing safely and to required specifications
2. Identify root cause of essential mechanical and electrical issues and performs essential repairs that may include welding, fabricating parts, advanced plumbing or replacing defective components. Works with appropriate personnel and management if further attention is required to resolve the issue
3. Perform essential maintenance and routine checks on housing systems, including ventilation, water, feed, egg, and manure equipment
4. Ability to troubleshoot, repair and track different types of conveyor belts
5. Diagnose and conduct overall conveyor maintenance on schedule, as required
6. Troubleshooting and replace or repair drive chains, gears, belts, pullies, shafts, rollers, electric motors, and gear boxes
7. Communicates with management to help maintain adequate tools/supplies for necessary repairs and maintenance
8. Responsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working condition. Keep work area organized, clean and free to move in
9. Occasional use of ALL-TERRAIN forklift and standard man-lifts equipment
10. Actively participate in and promotes our safety culture by following safe work practices
11. Identify unsafe conditions and corrects. Work with management to resolve safety concerns
12. In the absence of supervision can make sound decisions and can provide leadership in the work group to resolve issues and assign task
13. Assist other technicians in the performance of maintenance activities and/or providing training/guidance
14. Work around animals in confined areas
15. When working in poultry houses follows all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules, policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a supervisor
16. Other duties as assigned
