Purpose of Role

We are seeking a dynamic Data Scientist to join our Enterprise Data Management & Analytics organization. This dual-focused role requires you to balance traditional data science responsibilities with strategic support for our Advanced Analytics & AI initiatives. You will spend half of your time developing and deploying machine learning solutions, while the other half will involve leveraging your expertise and internal knowledge to uncover high-impact opportunities, assess feasibility, and guide the implementation of innovative AI and analytics solutions.

Your Impact

• Develop, maintain, and expand machine learning and AI solutions to support critical functions such as global price optimization and enterprise data management.
• Utilize AWS cloud computing and MLOps best practices to deploy scalable models effectively.
• Innovate with novel statistical and machine learning methodologies to tackle complex business challenges.
• Develop deep expertise in our internal modeling approaches and translate technical insights into actionable recommendations for a diverse audience.
• Continuously update your skills with emerging technologies and modeling techniques to drive technical excellence.
• Work collaboratively to drive improvements through the lifecycle of each product to ensure the technical implementation appropriately aligns with business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate high-impact opportunities across business units.
• Act as a strategic partner by guiding the design and implementation of AI-driven solutions that align with evolving business objectives.
• Work closely with the Advanced Analytics & AI teams to integrate cutting-edge generative AI techniques and advanced analytics methods into our operational framework.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data querying languages, scripting languages or statistical/mathematical software experience OR Master’s degree with typically 1 year(s)+ of relevant experience. 
• Proficiency with SQL and Python.
• Ability to apply data science to real-world problems, capable of breaking down complex problems into key components solvable by machine learning solutions.
• Knowledgable of limitations and best practices related to model specification, comparison, selection, and deployment.
• Ability to provide written and oral interpretation of highly specialized terms and data, and ability to present this data to others with different levels of expertise
• Prior experience working on an agile team preferred
• Prior experience leveraging version control (e.g., Git, SVN) in a team setting preferred

 

Bonus Qualifications:

• Ability to help guide deep-dive sessions to ideate production path to solutions.
• Writing skills to create and deliver tutorials, newsletters and presentations for technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
• Experience experimenting with current Generative AI tools from a variety of models. 
• Prior experience with AWS services (e.g., Sagemaker, S3, ECR).

Base Compensation

 $101,386.00 - $139,406.30 USD
