Job Description
Reports To: Senior Administrator, Employee Relations (or designee)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
School Classification: Classified
Pay Schedule: Range 4 ($29.24 - $38.00)
Work Schedule: 12 months
Location: Onsite and Remote Office
Position Summary: The Senior Specialist, Employee Relations is responsible for maintaining, and enhancing processes to support a positive and compliant workplace environment. Under the supervision of the Senior Administrator, Employee Relations, this role ensures efficient management of performance management systems, leaves of absence process, and compliance initiatives. This role actively contributes to fostering a culture aligned with the school’s mission, vision, and core values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
General Support

Manages offboarding processes, ensuring accuracy and keeping procedures up to date

Ensures proper documentation is collected, organized, and maintained in relevant systems

Completes HR paperwork and documentation, such as employment verification, records, and attendance reports

Keeps leadership informed of potential issues and recommends solutions as appropriate
Departmental and Employee Performance Evaluation

Supports the development and maintenance of performance evaluation systems under the direction of the Senior Administrator

Maintains performance evaluation systems, tools and documents

Maintains and updates performance management trackers, including tracking deadlines for performance evaluations, and goal-setting processes

Supports the school leadership with collecting staff evaluations and tracking completion
Employee and Labor Relations

Supports efforts to ensure the HR department and school are compliant within state and Federal employment laws through research, investigations, and learning

Prepares and tracks employee relations metrics and reports, including turnover, retention, and dashboard numbers, for review by senior administrator of employee relations

Analyzes employee relations metrics to identify trends and provides actionable recommendations to improve retention and engagement

Supports in conducting workplace investigations, including gathering documentation, and preparing reports

Designs and delivers training programs to enhance employee understanding of workplace policies and performance management

Supports with special projects and initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and overall workplace culture

Assists with keeping HR manuals, policies, and trainings current and updated
Maintenance of the Human Resources Information System and School Databases

Assists with the maintenance of the school’s HRIS

Assists with keeping all school systems current including auditing employment records as needed

Creates and maintains staff work calendars
Leaves of Absence Support

Coordinates the administration of leaves of absence and accommodations, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations

Tracks and records leave and accommodations cases, ensuring accurate records are maintained
-
Monitors case deadlines, extensions, and updates to ensure processes are handled in a timely manner

Responds to general inquiries from school leadership and staff regarding the leaves of absence and accommodations process
