Job Summary

North Anna Power Station in Mineral, Virginia is seeking a highly experienced Senior Instructor to join the team in support of Initial Licensed Operator Training.

 

The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Senior Instructor (Nuclear)

Develop instructional materials and conduct training for various technical training programs at the Company's nuclear power stations.  An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as expertise in the technical area for which he or she is providing training.  This level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the classroom, laboratory and on-the-job.  This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory and legal requirements.

 

Senior Instructor (Nuclear Operations)

Develop instructional materials and conduct training for licensed and non-licensed operators at the Company's nuclear power stations.  An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as hold or have held a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or SRO certification.  The individual also is required to participate in rigorous technical and instructional continuing training.  The instructor level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the main control room simulator, classroom, laboratory, and on the job.  The level is also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory and legal requirements.  Also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory and legal requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Senior Instructor (Nuclear):

• 12 + years of related experience OR;
• Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
• RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
• Sr Instructor Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience) 

 

Sr. Instructor (Nuclear Operations):

• 13+ years related experience in training or nuclear operations
• Hold or have held an SRO license or certification
• In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT
• Ability to train and lead others with an in depth knowledge of instructional theory and design
• Ability to analyze and develop training materials
• Experience interfacing with regulatory personnel and industry peers
• Experience operating various instrumentation and controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer and problem solving skills
• In-depth knowledge of plant operations and systems.

 

Additional KSAs for both positions:

• In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT.
