The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Junior Compliance and Trade Analyst within the RMDx Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics team, based in Chicago, IL.
The Jr. Customs Trade Compliance Analyst reports to the Customs & Trade Compliance Supervisor and supports global trade compliance operations with a focus on U.S. import/export regulations. This role ensures compliance with 19 CFR, 15 CFR, and internal policies while contributing to the development, administration, and enforcement of the company’s trade compliance program.
The analyst conducts audits and site assessments to evaluate compliance, identify risks, and recommend improvements, ensuring timely corrective actions. They also analyze import/export data to detect trends and strengthen controls, while owning key compliance data such as product classifications, country of origin (COO), free trade agreements (FTA), and licensing requirements.
What You’ll Work On
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of export, import, and trade requirements as stated under Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Maintain awareness of changes to ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and other applicable government regulations associated with trade compliance. Works with Corporate Trade Compliance, advises and trains employees.
- Oversee/monitor/assist in the preparation of required customs export documentation, including AES filings (originating from the US to multiple global accounts) in a highly time-sensitive environment from various data sources.
- Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to products/items being imported/exported and maintain the IML (Item Master List), including providing diligence memos with each new classification.
- Intermediate understanding of export control classification process (ECCN#), export licensing, EEI Electronic Export Information)
