About the department:

ING provides banking services and complex financing solutions to companies globally.

To provide a safe banking environment for society and our customers, ING must comply with global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations including maintaining robust Know Your Customer (KYC) controls. As such, we are actively fighting human trafficking, smuggling of drugs and weapons and do make sure international sanctions against countries and regimes are correctly executed within ING.

The KYC team in North America is offering a position in New York for a professional who enjoys working in an international banking environment. The KYC (Know Your Client) department coordinates all KYC related activities across different ING business sectors, both with external clients and internal stakeholders.

The KYC team is crucial in the onboarding of new customers and plays a key role in managing the non-financial risk of the current client portfolio.

About the position:

As an Administrative and Finance Assistant, you will work closely with commercial and support colleagues to ensure all administrative and financial aspects of the Americas KYC team are up to date.

The primary role of the Administrative and Finance Assistant is to oversee the administrative operations of the KYC department. Main responsibilities focus upon supporting all administrative activities surrounding the coordination of the management team and office activities, vendor/contract management, billing, annual budgets, and the coordination and tracking of KYC specific training for the Americas region.  

Your key responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties for the Department Head and the other Management Team members.
  • Support KYC Office
    • Administrate Purchases and Invoice Processing, notably for third-party vendors
    • Travel/ T&E Processing
    • Contracts/ Vendor Management
    • Coordinate KYC key meetings and committees
    • Oversee and manage KYC budget activities, incl. forecast, allocations, planning
    • Portfolio management and including gathering the Quarterly Business Review input.
    • Managing all KYC related training for the Americas region (coordination and reporting)
    • Oversee leavers/ joiners requests and related tasks
    • Coordinate social/ KYC team building events and activities
    • Coordinate specific events (charity, etc.)

Candidate Profile:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in an Administrative role a similar environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Flexible and learning capacity to adapt to ongoing changes
  • Budget formulation, comparative budget analysis
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles

Salary range: Associate Level $95K – $110K “This role is overtime-eligible.”
