Assistant Buyer (Textiles Industry)

ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, a leading company in textiles manufacturing and in the trading of fabrics and linens, is in search of an Assistant Buyer, to join the company’s office in the Northern Suburbs of Athens, Greece.

Responsibilities:

The job holder will work closely with the Buyer and assist with all procurement-related tasks, such as managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory, ensuring all goods are checked and delivered on time, and providing administrative support.

More specifically he/she will be:

• Assisting the Buyer with the selection of the right product
• Writing, placing and tracking purchase orders
• Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price

• Negotiating with vendors and building positive, long-term relationships
• Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to the Buyer
• Following up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
• Tracking orders and ensure timely delivery
• Arranging and overseeing shipping schedules

• Handling goods throughout the purchasing process
• Planning, monitoring and maintaining suitable inventory levels
• Data management
• Compiling reports on product performance, development and statistics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field preferred
• 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Buyer
• Fluency in English

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially in excel
• Knowledge of ERP Galaxy would be appreciated
• Excellent interpersonal, social and communication skills
• Very good negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Self-motivated personality and eager to learn
• Flexible to travel
