As ServiceNow continues its unprecedented growth, the company seeks to further establish its data and advanced analytics foundation and capabilities. We are building a mathematical enterprise for ServiceNow, leveraging all the data signals across the enterprise to guide business decisions. The Senior BI Engineer will be a part of our Sales Analytics team, and a key technical contributor to the reports and dashboards that our sales stakeholders leverage to drive decisions. This role will be engaged in the technical dashboard development and production of dashboards.
What you get to do in this role:
- Conceive and build interactive data visualizations, work with business to tease out the best stories to tell from a given dataset
- Break down complex, multi-part data sets into digestible pieces for audience through innovative storytelling devices that visually summarize large concepts
- Not to limit yourself to powerbi but should be able to explore, learn and implement Visualizations on industry standard tools like Tableau/D3/Looker/ MicroStrategy and others.
- Write complex SQLs, profile the large data set and provide insights with rich Visualizations.
- Build enterprise grade visualization assets with performance, security in mindset is a must.
- Collaborate with analysts, developers and leadership.
- Develop UI mock-ups, storyboards, flow diagrams, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Responsible for troubleshooting data issues and conducting root cause analysis when reporting data is in question.
- Documentation of projects artifacts and train end-users for better adoption.
Qualifications
In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
- BA, BS, or BFA and relevant field.
- 7 + years of total experience in both data warehouse and BI technologies with minimum 3 years, primary on Power BI, Tableau and MicroStrategy.
- Strong SQL skill is a must. (Snowflake and SAP Hana would be preferred)
- Experience in ad-hoc data analysis, solution design, reporting & dashboard development, understanding of statistics/R (a plus)
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work individually and in a broader geographically disperse team
- Should be able to set standards, define templates etc. to promote reusability and establish standards.
For positions in San Diego, we offer a base pay of $106,020 - $180,180, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive comp
