JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Controller in managing financial reporting for the organization. Oversees the financial reporting processes, prepares financial reports, documents key accounting positions and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Actively participates in the financial close process. Maintains accurate financial records and provides strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and financial stability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and statement of equity and retained
- Preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting to all constituents.
- Preparation of monthly cost center reporting in collaboration with FP&A.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial control policies and procedures, SOX, and regulations the Company is subject to while making recommendations for enhancements.
- Working with the Controller, providing analysis and reporting to the Company’s tax consultants.
- Assist with annual external audit and preparation of annual financial statements.
- Assist with periodic lender audits.
- Assist the Controller in the monthly close process.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards and implement efficient accounting procedures.
- Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements to determine the impact on the company and, when applicable, assist with the documentation and implementation of new standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the financial reporting process.
- Support FP&A in developing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to guide the organization's financial goals and objectives.
- Participate in the completion and review, through a variance analysis, of the monthly closing processes.
- Deliver and manage debt compliance and lender reporting.
- Assist FP&A as needed to monitor and track budget performance and provide recommendations for cost-saving and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and board members, to provide financial insights and updates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master's degree or CPA certification strongly preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
- Advanced in MS Office (e.g., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- 5+ years of experience in financial management and accounting.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and regulations.
