Job Summary:

The Lab Assistant under the immediate direction of the Supervisor, Laboratory Director, and subsequently the Medical Director of the Laboratory, performs non-technical duties, associated with specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing.

Required Training/Education/Experience:  

Minimum of 4160 hours at SVRMC Laboratory and able to perform duties in multiple areas and/or works as a site/department lead.                                  
Ability to perform specimen collections on newborn, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients accommodating the special needs of each age group.

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• Phlebotomist

 

Pay Range: $20.15 - $21.89 

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of phlebotomy program

Experience:

Required: Ability to complete blood draws independently within six-weeks of hire
Preferred: 6 months of laboratory experience
