FACILITIES

Rocket Lab’s Facilities team is responsible for maintenance, operations, and improvements projects across our locations, making sure that the facilities our teams use every day are well looked after and operating as they should.

FACILITIES COORDINATOR

Based onsite at Rocket Lab in Long Beach, California, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for spearheading facilities maintenance coordination and administrative tasks while supporting various improvement projects at Rocket Lab's Headquarters and Rocket Lab’s Engine Development Center. You will support the Facilities Manager with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • Assist with facilities maintenance coordination and administrative tasks as it relates to janitorial, building/grounds, maintenance, repair, and update/upgrade activities
  • Administrative support for major facility renovations / construction projects
  • Maintain and update seating charts and support workplace space planning
  • Coordinate maintenance support to ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment
  • Assist in vendor and contractor coordination & scheduling
  • Project management support involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
  • Assist in the development plans for facilities modifications and improvements with the focus on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensures that project milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets
  • Oversee ticketing system (JIRA) and set priorities for resolution
  • Track and submit purchase orders; process credit card receipts and submit expense reports.
  • Support Facilities Manager with compiling documentation and data for internal reporting and leadership updates.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of facilities coordination experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device, or similar highly-regulated manufacturing environment - OR - High School Diploma and 6 years of experience
  • Experience in personnel and project management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Expert knowledge of facilities systems and improvement projects
  • Experience with project management systems such as JIRA and CMMS software
  • Occupational health & safety skills to include risk assessment, policy, training, project management, hazardous substances, and safety in manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge and practical experience in emergency management and / or occupational health and workplace hygiene

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE
  • Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.   
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
