Job Description
Provide leadership and accountability for the outbound value stream to satisfy our customer and business needs. Provide leadership and accountability for the outbound value stream to satisfy our customer and business needs. Other key responsibilities include identification, evaluation, implementation of continuous improvement initiates within the supply chain, as well as recommendations on business processes and overall CDC operational strategies.
Principal Responsibilities
- Engages Associates, develops talent, and creates collaborative relationships within the department.
- Effectively manages outbound replenishment, picking, packing, palletizing, & loading processes.
- Implements/enforces work instructions for picking, packing, replenishment, etc.
- Interfaces with customer service team on shipping requirements & escalations.
- Interfaces with transportation providers on requirements and concerns.
- Administration and management of record keeping with control processes.
- Planning and management of the assigned processes and associates.
- Identify and pursue operational process efficiencies & quality improvement opportunities.
- Identify, establish, and monitor the KPI’s of the Outbound & Reach truck teams.
- Train, develop, & manage associates on the Outbound team to meet both departmental & CDC goals.
- Identify and develop continuous improvement plans (CIP) for his/her VS and collaborates with his/her peers on joint plans.
- Ensures safety is a number one consideration on the CDC floor.
- Cross train within Inbound value stream
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication, negotiation and team moderation skills
- Ability to manage time and workload constraints.
- Must have a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must know how to run very tight processes.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment with constant interruptions and changes to delivery schedules.
- Has a thorough understanding of warehouse forklift best practices.
- Good working knowledge of SAP systems.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Ability to develop and manage internal/external relationships.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement to achieve excellence.
- Excellent problem solving and quality decision making skills.
- Ability to effectively influence change.
- Deals well with ambiguity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad experience in supply chain (planning, manufacturing, order management, physical logistics operations).
- Experience in project management (project planning and tracking, risk management).
- APICS or other technical certifications.
- Certified equipment trainer.
