Supervisor, Childcare - Full Time

Job Summary:

Supervises the center including staffing, caseload control and supervision of personnel. Plans, organizes, and provides supervision in all aspects of the Center to create a nurturing environment for the children. Coordinates community outreach activities. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in early child education or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Education or related field: Preferred
• Experience in a supervisory capacity in a day care center or a child learning center program: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

Essential Functions:

• Oversees, supports and helps create an optimal center environment. Assigns personnel to client care activities for effective utilization of skills and abilities within their description and scope of practice. Responsibly directs and monitors personnel in the performance of client care activities in order to ensure adequate client care and quality of work. Authorizes and assigns overtime to personnel when independently determine this to be appropriate.
• Instructs new professional and ancillary personnel on job duties and assignments. Contributes to and supports staff development. Completes periodic evaluations of personnel supervised. Exercises independent judgment in supervising and responsibly directing assigned professional and ancillary personnel.
• Contributes to development and update of program and financial goals and objectives for center operation, showing support through implementation. Supports and helps maintain the center’s budget guidelines.
• Acts as liaison with public agencies. Manages accreditation process.
• Acts as a resource agent, consultant and liaison with staff, families, volunteers and members of the business community.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
