Your Career

We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Tax Manager, to join Palo Alto Networks’ Headquarters team. In this role you will lead International Tax Process and Business Support, providing crucial support for our international tax global initiatives and business operations. You should be a self-starter, strategic thinker, and excellent communicator, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and. This position is based in Santa Clara California and reporting to Senior Director International Tax, collaborating closely with various departments, including Tax, Accounting, Finance, Legal, Sales, and IT.  

The Senior Manager, International Tax Process & Business Support will play a pivotal role in leading and managing tax processes and transformation projects within our tax department. While having a foundational understanding of tax is an important qualification, the emphasis of this role is not on detailed tax knowledge but rather on the ability to drive transformative projects, automate and simplify processes, manage team tasks, and coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.

Your Impact 

  • Coordinate and help develop International tax matters with stakeholders for existing and new business models like implementation of reseller entities, financial services, treasury projects, new entities set-up, new product introduction, and Marketplace automation
  • Drive end-to-end transfer pricing automation using PAPM, SAC, SAP, Alteryx, and S4/HANA
  • Manage Pillar 2 implementation, emphasizing automation and compliance
  • Identify and help implement automated and simplified solutions to ensure compliance with new tax laws
  • Lead transformation projects in direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing
  • Organize and maintain tax policies and historical data for compliance, audits, and planning
  • Collaborate with legal and tax leadership to manage tax input for customer contracts
  • Support intercompany accounting, new initiatives, and treasury programs from a tax perspective
  • Coordinate tax team ongoing projects like quarter end close and compliance, tax Compliance cycle - Maintain global tax calendar, coordinate internally to ensure full compliance, administration and reporting of income tax
  • Lead data retention policies within the tax department
  • Provide support to Tax Reporting, Tax Planning, Regional Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Tax Controversy groups
  • Develop and deliver training materials and user documentation for tax technology and International tax processes and structure

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent military experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in international tax, accounting, finance, or relevant areas, with a focus on tax and accounting process automation
  • Good understanding of Transfer Pricing and experience with improvement and automation of tax processes and transfer pricing calculations within ERP
  • Experience with "Big ERP" systems, preferably SAP, SAC
  • Demonstrated expertise in data extraction, transformation, and reporting technologies (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, PAPM)
  • 2+ years' experience completing cross-functional projects involving tax, accounting, finance
  • Experience teaming with Accounting and Treasury to design and coordinate
