Role Overview:

 

The Head of ERSM Americas reports into TE’s Chief Risk Officer and is responsible for leading security strategies, business continuity, and crisis management across the Americas region to include protection of people, property, investigations, and intellectual assets through the implementation of appropriate risk-based and business-focused mitigation strategies.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the implementation, and continuous refinement of physical security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures across the region & direct reports.
  • Directs regional investigations including, but not limited to, information and physical security related matters. Partners with Legal, Human Resources, IT and others, as needed, to conduct investigations.
  • Deliver preventative programs and services to protect against financial loss, counterfeiting, sabotage, threats, emergencies, illegal acts, and property or environmental crimes.
  • Partners with internal risk owners and regional leaders to identify, mitigate and manage risks.
  • Verify and validate that risk mitigation efforts are consistent with the company’s values.
  • Coordinate the formulation of business continuity strategies and objectives for the region.
  • Partners with business and functional leaders to implement crisis management and business continuity plans.
  • Coordinates the regional crisis management program, including crisis planning, scenario exercises, crisis response, playbook development and continuous improvement.
  • Works closely with national and international law enforcement, and other public agencies to gather intelligence and coordinate response to catastrophic events which impact the region.
  • Partners with businesses in region at times of disaster to recover critical business functions and minimize impact on people, assets, customers, and reputation, while leading regional response team.
  • Routinely report to the VP of Enterprise Risk and Security Management and regional business leaders regarding changes in the region’s risk profile.

What your background should look like

 

Competencies and Experience:

 

  • 7+ years of security, business continuity, and crisis management experience.
  • BA criminal justice, security, or comparable. CPP a plus.
  • Preferrable able to communicate effectively in Spanish and English.
  • Maintain, motivate and lead a combination of direct and indirect team members attuned to organizational culture, responsive to business needs and committed to integrity and excellence.
  • Provides intellectual leadership and active support to the organization’s governance team to ensure risks are made known to regional and senior management.
  • Identifies, analyzes and communicates on risks to the organization.
  • Strong and effective communication and influencing skills across the organization.
  • Strategic orientation with ability and willingness to execute tactically, as required.
  • Highly skilled in succeeding in a matrix-management environment.
  • The ability to travel globally, sometimes on short notice.
