Your Role:

You will manage the 24/7 production to achieve MilliporeSigma site goals and objectives for safety, quality, output, cost, delivery, efficiency and ensure compliance standards are met. Evaluates and execute corporate tactical and strategic plans to optimize utilization of manufacturing assets to meet the requirements of a custom manufacturing operations model. Coordinates the weekly production schedules in collaboration with Planning to ensure target output is achieved across 3 production lines. Represents Production in all customer audits, customer technical visits, and customer investigations, in cooperation with site Quality, R&D, Technical Services and the Commercial Team. Develops and demonstrates a high level of technical knowledge of the equipment/process, able to sell the features/benefits of the equipment design and the positive impact on our products. 

 

Your focus will be to:

  • Ensure quality systems and regulatory compliance in the production areas. Collaborates with the site Validation personnel to help develop and ensure execution of IQ/OQ/PQs for the equipment/process. Approves manufacturing and product validation packets. Approves Cleaning Qualifications. Able to translate the boundaries of the qualifications and validations into manufacturing procedures. Approves and executes change management of the validated manufacturing and cleaning systems.
  • Directs Process Engineering projects to minimize process downtime and improve process efficiency.
  • Leads site key project initiatives as directed by Site Management and able to achieve project deadlines.
  • Defines corrective and preventive actions for internal deviations and customer product complaints. Leads initiatives designed to improve target service metrics.
  • Provides recommended staffing strategy designed to meet medium and long-term site objectives.
  • Coordinates the selection, training, development, motivation and evaluation of employees within the department. Guides, motivates and develops supervisors within the department and provide overall guidance of personnel development within the department. 
  • Leads department Health & Safety program designed to achieve the site Safety goals through training and awareness.
  • Provides strong avenue of communication for employees maintaining a foundation of respect and dignity and emphasizing company values.
  • All other job-related duties and activities as assigned by the Plant Manager. 

 

Who you are:  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations Managements, Chemical Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years supervisory experience with strong knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement methodology (i.e.., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TOC) with effective project management skills
  • Proficient in safe processing techniques and pertinent OSHA, EPA, FDA regulations
  • Experience with fiscal responsibilities, including forecasting and budgeting

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master of Science in the Life or Physical Sciences, Engineering or equivalent relevant experience required
  • Working knowledge of technical production, relevant processing techniques and equipment
