Principal System Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Principal System Engineer to join a growing Silicon Development Compute Solutions team embedded within Microsoft’s Silicon engineering team.  The Principal Systems Engineer will be part of a dynamic HPC administration team.  This Principal Systems Engineer will have primary responsibilities overseeing our HPC (High Performance Computing) server infrastructure working with the Silicon Development Compute Solutions team, CAD Operations, and Engineering to support a scalable server and services architecture.  This position has the opportunity to become a management position within the Silicon Development Compute Solutions team. Microsoft Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. Responsibilities

• Administer High Performance Compute infrastructure and services in a very large environment 

• Architect new solutions for scalability and resiliency 

• End-to-end service ownership 

• Automating processes and services 

• Owning projects and utilizing other team members to drive project success 

• Review infrastructure and services design and suggest improvements 

• Analyze metrics and design improvements for services 

• Interface with engineering and CAD teams to solve complex problems

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ Years’ HPC (High Performance Computing) infrastructure experience
